Canyoning in the Sierra of Guara, Benasque and Ordesa
In spring and summer one of the most popular mountain activities in the Pyrenees is canyoning or canyoning in Sierra de Guara, Benasque and Ordesa.
Its great demand is for several reasons:
Its great demand is for several reasons:
– The large number of levels it offers, from easy and playful canyons to very advanced levels due to its verticality and large amount of flow.
– Its great beauty, since the places sculpted by the water after millions of years mold the mountains with impressive shapes.
– and of course its fun and freshness.
The Pyrenees like many other massifs hide hundreds of ravines, if hundreds ….. many more than people can imagine. Famous canyons such as Peonera, Formiga, Oscuros del Balcez, Mascún Superior or Gosgas Negras are the jewels of the Sierra de Guara, Barbaruens or Eriste in the Benasque Valley or others such as Mirabal, Furco, Gloces, Sorrosal, Salto del Carpin, Gargan de los Navarros in the surroundings of the Ordesa National Park. A great variety of canyons that awaken the sporting eagerness, knowledge and fun of many people.
The most memorable time is in spring, when the Pyrenees awaken from their long winter lethargy and the thaw begins. At this time all the water flows are filled with water and canyons that are dry in summer are encouraged and others of continuous flow are wild showing their most powerful and sporty side.
